I’m creating this topic because a lot of you don’t know how the leaderboard works and seem interested.
Points will be referred to as cheers
Quickest ways to earn cheers
- Creating engaging topics - the more user engagement the higher the cheers earned.
- Giving and receiving likes - you will gain cheers for liking other people’s posts and people liking yours.
- Simply logging in daily and reading topics - this a lot of you probably don’t know about but it’s effective.
- Writing helpful replies - helping people by answering questions can lead to them reacting to your post or engaging with your reply which will lead to you getting some cheers.
What you shouldn’t do
- Spam - this is obvious quality matters more than quantity so don’t post a bunch of one word replies or duplicate topics and don’t like every single post you see to keep the leaderboard fair for everyone.
- Using alt accounts to like your own posts - this is also unfair and ruins the fun of the leaderboard.
- Entering topics and just scrolling to the bottom - discourse tracks the time spent in the topics not how how far you scroll through them and you have to be on the individual tab so opening multiple tabs won’t work.
- Using AI - making low effort topics and replies using fully AI is low effort and can lead to the reply being deleted which will lead to you losing cheers
- Breaking rules - this will lead to flags and the reply being taken down and possibly suspensions which will remove some cheers from your account.
